Telescopic Fellowship - September 29, 2007
We had a good time at the fellowship, which we had planned to have in Memorial Park, but because of the
wind, we decided to have it at the pastor's house.
The plan was to invite guests to the fellowship with the view of inviting them to church, as well as have the telescope
set up in a high traffic area, and invite passers-by to come in and look through it at the night sky.
Since we had it at the pastor's house, the plan to get passers-by was put on hold till the next time.
Bro. Meier projected the night sky up on the ceiling of his front room, and taught on the constellation Bootes, and
specifically the star Arcturus from Job 9:9. He taught how that this constellation, it's name, and the names of the stars
that make up the constellation, is a heavenly illustration of the Bible lesson on the man named The Branch, who was
wounded, but is coming with power to rule over His kingdom.
Bro. Snider brought his telescope, and since the wind had slowed down some, we set it up, and looked at the star Arcturus
just before it went down around 9:30. It was so beautiful, sparkling like a diamond in the sky.
