THE KING JAMES BIBLE
"No Contemporary Nothing"
Liberty Baptist Church is an old fashioned Baptist church seeking to faithfully preach Jesus Christ, and Him crucified, to our city and the regions beyond.
The name "Liberty" is not just a name, but actually the guiding principle of our ministry. We seek to draw people to fall in love with Jesus Christ to a greater degree, and do something for Him.
The medium for this attraction is the scriptures taught and preached under the power of the Holy Spirit. The active Christians that attend Liberty Baptist do what they do for Christ because they love Him.
This is affected by a light study of the scriptures in the Sunday School, with a moderate treatment in the evening services, and a heavy and deep study in our bi-weekly Bible Study.
Our finally authority in all matters of faith and practice is the old King James Bible. It was the reading of this Bible that inspired the founding fathers of our country to establish the freedoms and liberties that all Americans enjoy.
We at Liberty Baptist are Christians because of what the Bible says, but we are Baptists because of history. We seek to connect ourselves with the Christians of antiquity that trace their religious ancestry to the Saviour Himself, through the apostles, through the suffering of the Dark Ages under the persecutions of the Roman Catholic Church, to the present time.
This lineage traces itself, through the centuries, to the earliest days of our nation, having a hand in the modification of the Constitution of the United States in the form of the Bill of Rights. American history teaches us that it was at the insistence of Elder John Leland , a Baptist preacher from Orange County Virginia, that President Washington and James Monroe, (the author of the U.S. Constitution) penned the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights.
Is it any wonder that the renowned John Lock wrote: "The Baptists were the first and only propounders of absolute liberty". (What Hath God Wrought p168, William P. Grady)
Our goal at Liberty Baptist Church is to
1. Glorify the Saviour
2. Edify the Saint
3. Evangelize the sinner

If you are tired of the "vain and light persons" (Jud 9:4) of modern, effeminate, charismatic, "entertainment Christianity" with it’s "contemporary" music and "contemporary" services, I would exhort you to "Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." (Jer 6:16)
If you are seeking an old fashioned Bible preaching and teaching Baptist church, still conducting services the way it was done in years gone by, please pay us a visit.
Salvation:
If you've never been saved, we beseech you to consider the following invitation.
The Bible says:
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom 6:23)
The Bible is clear that because of your sin, someone must die. "The wages of sin is death".
The problem comes when we consider what the Bible says about death.
Revelation 20 talks about the last judgment, at the end of the world.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Verse 14 makes it clear that there are two deaths. The first is physical and the second is spiritual. That second death is called the lake of fire.
So when Romans 6:23 says that "the wages of sin is death", that is a reference to both deaths; physical and spiritual.
Dear reader, if you have sinned, and "the wages of sin is death" and that death is hell, then where does that put you?
If you have never been saved, the answer is: in hell.
I have good news for you (that is what the word "gospel" means: good news) "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Salvation is in a free gift, if you will receive it.
Jesus said:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Mt 11:28
You can be saved today. You can be saved right where you are. Salvation is not in a church, or baptism, or a preacher. Salvation is in the Saviour.
Mt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The Philippian jailer once asked:
Acts 16:30 Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
The Bible is clear that if you will
1. admit you are a sinner, and
2. receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour,
trusting that the blood that Jesus Christ shed on Calvary's cross,
His death, burial and resurrection is the payment for your sin,
you will be saved.
Romans 10: 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
If you want to be saved, you can right now by just doing what that last verse says to do.
Call upon His name, and ask Him to save you.
In prayer admit that you are a sinner, and in prayer ask Him to forgive you and be your Saviour. He will do it.
Perhaps you can pray like this:
Father, I know that I am a sinner, and I know I deserve to go to hell, but please don't send me to hell. I'm sorry for my sins. I receive Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. I trust His shed blood on Calvary's cross, His death, His burial, and His resurrection as payment for my sins. Thank you for saving me. Help me to live like a Christian, and receive the blessings Christians get. In Jesus name, amen.
If you have just received this glorious Saviour, the way that we have at Liberty Baptist Church, I encourage you to contact us. We have some free material and a Bible that will help you get to know God better.
